Portraits are personal. Portraits are intimate. Portraits reveal a spark of divinity.
Almost every person whose image is part of the project is opting in -- I’d rather not including anyone who does not want to be part of the project, or who isn’t willing to talk to me for a while about their participation. From time to time, street photography also will be used. Images taken on the street are legal but sensitive. I take the utmost care to portray people with dignity and treat their images with respect. I do not hide my camera.
This is ultimately a project to addresses intolerance and misunderstanding. We have to talk to each other.
This project is a work in progress and will take many years and many partners to complete. Thank you for adding your voice. The images will be combined with installations of prayer flags, which invite your participation. © Jeane Vogel
